3 Reasons You Pee More At Night And How To Stop ••

Multiple trips to the bathroom when you’re trying to get your rest aren’t just annoying, they can cause decreased sleep quality, irritability, lack of focus and memory problems.

In fact, two out of three women suffer from nighttime bladder fullness that interrupts their sleep.

There are a number of things that can cause you to have to “go” more at night and it’s not just about how much you have to drink before bed.

So why is your bladder waking you up and what can you do about it?

Reason 1 Infection

The first concern when you have to get up more than once per every 6-8 hours of sleep to use the bathroom is a urinary tract infection or UTI.

In fact, UTIs are the second most common type of infection and women are much more likely to suffer from a UTI than men.

Your doctor can check for this with a simple test of your urine for signs of infection.

If an UTI is the culprit your doctor will probably prescribe an antibiotic but these are not always one-hundred percent effective. Additionally, if you have a recurrent urinary tract infection, antibiotics are even less likely to help.

Add to that the side effects they bring like yeast infections and antibiotics might not be the answer you’re looking for.

Consider adding one teaspoon or about 2 grams of D-mannose to a glass of water or non-citrus juice two to three times per day. Continue this for at least two to three days after the symptoms of your infection are gone.

D-mannose is natural sugar than binds to E coli bacteria – a common cause of UTIs helping them pass out of your urinary tract system.

Reason 2 Medications

If you are taking prescription drugs, especially diuretics like the ones given for high blood pressure, these are a likely source of your nighttime bladder issues.

Nighttime urination is a common side effect of these medications and one that many people find impossible to deal with. Talk to your doctor and make lifestyle changes to bring down your blood pressure the natural way.

Reason 3 Bladder spasms

For many people the cause of an irritated bladder that keeps you awake is a simple as spasms of the bladder muscles.

To see if this is the root of your problems, add in a magnesium supplement to your daily routine.

This mineral helps to relax the bladder and urethra muscles so that you’re less likely to be woken up with the urge to go.

Add 350 mg of magnesium-citrate powder to 8 ounces of water twice daily for best results.

Get uninterrupted rest

Don’t let those nightly bathroom trips interrupt your zzzs. Check for signs of a urinary tract infection, consider the medications you may be on, and try magnesium to calm bladder spasms. After all, healthy sleep makes for a healthy life.

And remember, any time you can try natural remedies for your overactive bladder, it’s best.
