Manchester United players go crazy after Marcus Rashford embarrasses Ander Herrera in training ••

After Romelu Lukaku arrived at Manchester United in a £75 million deal, Marcus Rashford may have been fearing the worst.

The 19-year-old had to play second-fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic when the Swede was fit last season but proved his worth towards the end of the campaign, scoring 11 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions.

And when Lukaku arrived at Old Trafford, Rashford may not have been too happy with yet another striker being added to the squad.

But in pre-season, Rashford has been in fantastic form. He’s scored three goals in the three pre-season friendlies so far with many talking about a formidable strike partnership with the Belgian striker.

And it seems Rashford is taking his incredible form into training.

During a rondo training drill, the wonderkid embarrassed teammate Ander Herrera by popping the ball through the Spaniard’s legs.

While the skill was impressive enough, the reaction from his United teammates was even better.

The likes of Paul Pogba and Lukaku chased Rashford around the circle as they tried to congratulate the youngster on his moment of brilliance.

United supporters are excited at the prospect of Rashford and Lukaku and it seems Jose Mourinho is keen to give it a go and believes the starlet can play a big role for the club this season.

Mourinho hints at Lukaku and Rashford partnership

“Rashford was in a different team than Lukaku but we will also try both in the same team which I think can also work,” Mourinho said.

“Last season in this period everyone was saying with me it would be difficult for Marcus to play but he was one of the top with appearances of the team.

“He played a lot in different positions which is good for his evolution and played the Europa League important matches.

“He’s learning a lot, a great professional, great attitude. Last season in a period he was not scoring goals and missing a lot of chances which was not a drama because that’s part of the evolution.

“We know he is going to score more goals than last season.”
